Glowing houses have new gas central heating systems

Central heating is the best way to keep your house warm during winters. If you have an efficient and safe gas central heating system installed you will enjoy the benefits of a comfortable and snug household.

The typical gas central heating system has copper pipework, radiators and a gas gas boiler and it is basically of two types, vented or a pumped system.

The most commonly used gas central heating systems are the pumped systems, which consists of two outstanding parts, a feed and expansion tank; the tank is the core of the system, it first heats itself and then transfers the heat to the heaters through the pipes. The tank has enough storage space to allow for any water expansion that might result from the heating system.

There is also what is known as a sealed system in which no centre core is used to heat the radiators. This system is essentially self-providing and therefore does not require any water tanks. The major benefits from this type of system, is that it basically lessens the risk of leaking and stops other possible problems such airlocks, one of the better benefits, especially for colder countries is that there is no hazard of pipes freezing up.

So Why Do I need a central heating System?.

The simple answer is that it will allow you to heat your entire home or office quickly without compromising the air quality. Before the central heating system came into existence, other heaters like electric and storage heaters were used to keep the house warm or even coal fires. However, these older heating methods make the air sticky and hard, and can also emit an unpleasant odour.

The central heating systems are free from all these drawbacks but they need regular maintenance to keep them operating reliably. Many families only use their gas central heating during the cold months and leave them entirely unused during the summer, this is a common error. Instead it is advocated that you gradually bring them into use during autumn so that if you spot any problem you can quickly contact an engineer.

Airborne dust and other contaminants can also seep into the gas central heating system, necessitating periodic drainage and cleaning. To flush the system, open the valve carefully and drain the collected water into a bucket, while ensuring that no further water gets into the heating system.
