There are more than one layout of heating boiler

There are many different types of gas Central Heating Systems available to you. Despite the different names basically these systems usually have copper pipework, heating radiators and a gas heating boiler.

People in the United Kingdom, Europe and some parts of Russia, hardly need an air conditioner because of the low average temperature. Today a good Central Heating system has become a major part of every home, so much so that it is being fitted in all the new houses that are being constructed.

Heating is essential, particularly whens winter is heading our way. Only then you can relax and feel cosy inside your house. Your Central Heating System needs to be reliable. A good central heating system should inspire confidence, give value for money and be simple to operate.

Two kinds of Central Heating Systems are mainly in use; pumped/vented and sealed systems.

The vented/pumped one is more common of the two. A pumped/vented Gas Central Heating System has a feed and expansion tank. The hot water storage tank provides your home with warm water and brings heat to the heating radiators. Water expands when heated; this expansion is accommodated in a feed-expansion tank. The expansion tank is placed at highest spot to help create water pressure. The hot water tank has two main functions; to heat the house and and provide hot water for washing.

For many years now, pumped/vented systems have been the norm for Central Heating.

A Sealed Central Heating System is a relatively modern technology, and is being adopted by many homeowners today. A sealed system, as the name suggests is a closed system so no water tanks are needed. There are no tanks or pipework in the loft, the whole system is sealed, its unvented, which has its benefits:.

- There is no risk of pipes freezing in the attic as with older systems.

- No maintenance work on the tank or pipes that would be in the attic in a pumped/vented system.

- Because the system is not vented, there is less chance of water leaking out.

- Reduced risk of air locks, corrosion and sludge as there isn’t a chance of air being drawn down into the system through open vents as the system is sealed.

- Can be flushed out under pressure if needed by the mains water supply.

This heating system is self contained incorporating all the safety devices and other important controls. The mains water supplies the water required for the sealed Central Heating system. It feeds directly from the main water supply.

A pressure vessel containing tightly packed gas can allow a sealed system to have normal fluctuations of pressure; a diaphragm serves as a barrier between the gas and water in the sealed system. If the pressure becomes too high in a sealed Gas Central Heating System; a safety valve will allow water to escape from the system and if the pressure drops too low a valve will open to refill the system with water.

Gas Central Heating systems are a great way to keep your home warm, also they don’t cost you as much as the other systems would. They offer you a lot more control of your home environment than the other heating systems.
